Qeiwa vintage silk scarf in camel colour and tulip pattern

Several years ago, we found a length of vintage silk charmeuse in Paris. Originally woven for an Italian fashion house, the fabric had never been used. We bought a single roll without knowing exactly what it would become. We crafted the first pieces but could never find a way to finish them that felt right. For a long time, we weren’t certain they would ever become a collection.

Only recently did we return to the project, sewing every piece ourselves and finishing each one with hand-made silk tassels and textile beads. Every tassel and bead is made individually, so no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

These double-layered silk triangles sit somewhere between a scarf and a collar. Decorative, quietly playful and soft textile jewellery.

Every piece carries the character of vintage silk, woven years ago and finally brought to life in our studio. The silk is exceptionally soft, with the fluid drape and subtle, liquid sheen that only charmeuse has.

Vintage has been with us for years. Nothing about it is hurried. Perhaps that is exactly what we wanted to preserve.
